Day 1-30: 30 sittings in Ramadan by ibn 'Uthaymeen
Day 1: First Sitting - The Merits of the Month of Ramadan
Imam Ahmad narrates on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallaam) said: My nation was given five specific things during the month of Ramadhan which no nation before us was given. The breath of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah then the smell of misk, the Angels ask for the forgiveness of the fasting one until they eat, Allah beautifies Heaven every day and says, “My righteous servants are about to be spared suffering and harm, then they will be sent to you”, the Devils are chained so that they are not able to do what they would normally do otherwise, and they are forgiven in the last night, they said, “O Messenger of Allah, are you referring to Laylatul-‐Qadr?, He replied, ‘No, but indeed the reward follows the good deed, once the deed is performed.’”
1. The breath of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah then the smell of misk: Why? Because it is a sign of obedience and worship.
2. The angels ask for the forgiveness of the fasting one until they eat: If Allah gives them permission to make du'a, that is a sign of the greatness of the fast. Forgiveness means forgiveness and protection from sins in this world and the next.
3. Allah beautifies Heaven every day and says, “My righteous servants are about to be spared suffering and harm, then they will be sent to you”: Hastening to do good brings happiness in this life and the next.
4. The Devils are chained so that they are not able to do what they would normally do otherwise: This is Allah's help for the believer.
5. They are forgiven in the last night: The good deed is rewarded at the end of the deed.
3 ways Allah rewards His slaves:
1. He makes these actions obligatory on His slaves. 2. He gives people tawfeeq to do them, without which they would not be able to. 3. The reward is multiplied.
Day 2: Second Sitting - The Merits of Fasting
It was prescribed on all nations and made obligatory.
It is a cause of forgiveness and expiation from sins - conditions:
Faith in Allah
Pleasure in the obligation
Expecting the reward
Reward without account.
Allah chose fasting for Himself
Good deeds are multiplied. This act brings together all types of patience.
Fasting is a protection
The breath of a fasting person is beloved to Allah
2 moments of happiness: when he breaks his fast, when he meets his Lord.
Fasting intercedes for the person
Day 3: Third Sitting - From the Rulings of Fasting Ramadan
Day 31 - 44: The Comprehensive Fiqh of Fasting - Zaad al-Mustaqni - Shaykh Ahmad Jibril
