Start early - prepare for Ramadan from now. It takes our bodies a few days to adjust to the routine of fasting, and during those days we will feel extra tired. That's why most people find the first few days of Ramadan really hard, but then once they get used to it, find the remainder of the month pretty ok.
The Prophet (sallalahu 'alayhi wa sallam) would fast most in Sha'ban for this reason.
Tip 2 - Dr. Ahsan Hanif
Make yourself a Ramadan timetable in which you clearly outline your goals as well as how you're going to meet those goals on a daily basis.
Remember to be ambitious in your goals and aspirational in your timetable.
Tip 5 - Dr. Ahsan Hanif
My final Ramadan preparation tip is to be practical.
Maximise your potential by knowing your limits and what motivates you. For example, if you need to take a nap during the day, do so. If you find it easier to switch between reading the Qur'an, listening to it, reading its translation as opposed to simply reading for hours on end, do so.
Beware of the mid-Ramadan dip where after the first week you lose motivation until the last ten nights of Ramadan.
I ask Allah to make this a blessed and truly amazing Ramadan for all of us. May He grant us forgiveness in it and bestow upon us Jannah.
